?May 28. The Thibodaux Recreation Department, under the direction of Salazar Athletic program and USTA, will host a QuickStart Tennis Carnival from 9-11 a.m. May 28 at the Thibodaux Civic Center. Check-in is scheduled for 8:30 a.m. The event will include introduction to QuickStart tennis, games, raffles and lots of fun for children ages 4-10 years old. Snacks and drinks will be provided. There is no charge for the event. No tennis experience necessary. Participants shall bring a racquet if they have one (if not one will be provided). Volunteers are welcome. ?May 30-June 1. The Future Stars Volleyball Camp hosted by Houma Christian volleyball coach Chelsey Nicholas will be hold Session I at the school from 8:30-11:30 a.m. daily. Session I is for ages third-seventh grade and the cost is $60 per camper. Registration will continue until 7:45 a.m. on the first day of the camp. UNO volleyball coach Kim Young and other experienced volleyball coaches will work the camp. Concessions will be sold daily. Mail registration forms to Feature Stars Volleyball Camp, P.O. ?May 31-June 2. The ?Hoop-It-Up? girls summer basketball camp directed by Vandebilt Catholic girls basketball coach Kathy Luke will take place May 31-June 2 at the school?s upstairs gym from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. for girls kindergarten through eighth grade. ?June 6. The ?Hoop-La? Basketball Camp hosted by Houma Christian boys basketball coach Freddie Frye will take place at the Houma Christian School Gym (109 Valhi Blvd.) for boys and girls 7-17. There will be three sessions (June 6-10 for ages 7-9, June 13-17 ages 10-13 and June 20-24 ages 14-17) all 9:30 a.m. to noon. The cost is $65 per camper and registration is open from 10 a.m. to noon at the Houma Christian Gym May 14, 21 and 28 and is also open the days of the camp. ?June 6-9. Vandebilt Catholic boys basketball coach Henry Washington will host a ?Summer Jam? basketball camp for boys and girls aged 8-14 on June 6-9 from 8:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. The cost is $60 per player. The camp will focus on fundamental skills instruction and speed and agility training. All campers will receive a camp T-Shirt. For information, call Washington at 870-1620.

?June 6-10. The 2011 Assumption Mustang Summer Volleyball Clinic will be held from 9-11:30 a.m. June 6-10 at Assumption High School. The clinic is open for students from first through eighth grade for the 2011-12 school year. The pre-registration cost is $75 and on-site registration is $90. The instructors are the Assumption volleyball coaching staff, former players and current players. Each camper will receive a camp T-shirt, clinic certificate, practice volleyball. Insurance will also be provided. The clinic will teach the fundamentals of the game, and contests and games will also be held. ?June 6-July 7. Vandebilt Catholic boys basketball coach Henry Washington will host a five-week speed and agility camp for all boys and girls junior high or high school athletics in all sports. The five-week program will begin on June 6 and last until July 7. It will be held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 2-3:30 p.m. The cost is $150. ?June 13-15. E.D. White Catholic baseball coach Shane Trosclair will host the Cardinal Baseball Camp from June 13-15. The cost is $75 per camper. For information, email strosclair@htdiocese.org.

?June 13-16. Jerwaski Coleman?s Skills and Drills Basketball Camp for boys and girls 7-13 will be held from 8:30-11:30 a.m. June 13-16 at the Houma Junior High Gym. The cost is $30. The camps teaches fundamentals of shooting, passing and ball handling and is open for beginners and advanced players. The British soccer coaches working the camp are flown in to specifically work these camps and it is open for players from 3-16. Prices range from $74-$161 and teams are welcome to attend. Each camper will receive a T-Shirt, a ball, a giant soccer poster and a personalized skills performance evaluation. Players who sign up 45 days before the camp receive a British soccer replica jersey. Players 10 and older are eligible, and the cost is $75 per person. The camp is open to 10 players. Campers should bring a ball, shin guards, water, sunscreen and goalkeeping equipment and must have medical insurance to attend.
