Wrinkles ? The First Sign of Aging

The skin texture changes with age and the skin develops folds and creases which are also termed as wrinkles. Skin wrinkles appear on the body due to some processes like glycation. Wrinkles are caused majorly by aging and also because of the sun. Many creams are available in the market that can be used in taking care of wrinkles.

Wrinkles can be easily cared for at the right age. Wrinkles are natural part of aging, but they are most prominent on sun-exposed skin, such as the face, neck, hands and forearm. Environmental exposure, such as to heat, wind and dust, as well as smoking, also may contribute to wrinkling. Drink as much water as you can. Fatty substances and oily food particles that get entrapped in your body find their way out with ease. The more water you consume, the more hydrated your skin can be.

If you are forced to live in a dry temperature, apply moisturizers and protect your skin.

At the same time, experts say, many of us are losing the wrinkle battle, watching helplessly as the glow of youth goes on the dimmer switch. As you age wrinkles settle on your skin. This is nature. Your skin would have a tendency to loosen and show up wrinkles all over. Women worry about this to a greater extent than men. Wrinkles tend to make people look older as time goes on.

There are many ways to avoid wrinkles or at least to prevent them from increasing. If an individual is careful then they will seek a better protection from wrinkles. The following points should be observed in order to prevent wrinkles before old age.
? ?Avoid the sun
? ?Wear sunscreen.
? ?Avoid smoking
? ?Sleep properly
? ?Sleep on your back which is effective
? ?Squinting does not help wear glasses
? ?Fish is helpful
? ?Coffee does not help so avoid it and instead drink cocoa
? ?Fruits and vegetables help a lot
? ?Moisturizer is the best way to avoid the wrinkles
? ?Excessive washing is good to avoid wrinkles

More home improvement | Connie Smithsons Writing Place

The never ending home improvement bug has struck again. I?ve decided that I want to repaint the living room and leave one wall, so mirror tile can be put up. I?m not even going to try my had at this. I?m calling around for the professionals. I don?t want to get into the job of cutting glass, or dropping glass, hanging glass?none of it.

I?ve always wanted one wall of total mirrors though, that wasn?t a bathroom. I?ve been looking at various colors and styles and haven?t made a decision on what I want just yet. I?ve still got to pick out the colors I want to paint the living room. Then again, maybe I?ll pick the kind of mirror I love and then pick the paint. Which ever I do, I want this done right.

After the mirrored wall and new paint job, I?m gong to look for the perfect touches to go with both the antique furniture and the new furniture I plan on getting finally. I?m really looking forward to this renovation of sorts.

Why List Building Is Essential For Your Business | Michael Wass ...

One of the most valuable assets an online business can have is an opt-in list. What?s this and how does it work? We?re here to help!

An opt-in marketing list is where a customer (or potential customer, but it?s most often somebody who has purchased something from your site) gets an option to include themselves in on an email list that your company sends out.

This is very different from spam, which is where unscrupulous business owners go ?phishing? for random email addresses that they find on the Internet and relentlessly pelt these poor souls with emails. Spam does nobody any good and basically ends up costing a business a lot of money only to irritate people.

An opt-in list, though, is a brilliant for business because the people who receive your emails are actually interested in receiving them. You can send this list of people who are interested in keeping constant correspondence with your business occasional emails ? no more than twice a month, usually, and only when you have something of worth to say or offer ? which can detail everything from the current goings-on of your business to deals and offers and promotions. Many companies offer special promotions to those who join their opt-in list as an incentive to, well, opt in.

Opt-in lists give customers who are interested in you your attention. Even better, the effect of an opt-in list is entirely traceable, as if you start offering promotions through your list you?ll be able to tell how many of them get redeemed. Opt-in lists are also another great way to get out more of that free expert content you offer, specially designed for those who wish to follow you. Many smaller businesses offer Q and A sessions through their opt-in list, where followers can ask specific questions that can be answered through the general forum of your email.

These lists are also the digital equivalent to having ?regulars? at a store and engaging them in casual chat. Through an email list you can develop more intimate relationships with customers as compared to the normal ?anonymous buyer? that hops into your site to pick up a few items, and then hops out without you knowing anything more about them other than what they bought. Close relationships with customers generate brand loyalty, which is a hot commodity.

Want another bonus? Email marketing can also be entirely free if you manage it yourself. Even if you choose to outsource your email marketing or leave it to an employee to handle, it is much cheaper than print advertising because of how targeted it is. Individual customers make specific requests, and you fill them by sending out the information direct to those who asked for it. It?s a very simple, yet incredibly effective method of advertising that is guaranteed to optimize conversions and get people talking about you, particularly if you make your opt-in list a plum deal to join.

Rotator Cuff Pain Symptoms and Management ... - Health and Fitness

Hooligans threaten Argentine players at gunpoint

By DEBORA REY

Associated Press

Associated Press Sports

updated 8:12 p.m. ET May 22, 2012

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (AP) -Racing Club midfielder Giovanni Moreno and forward Federico Santander say they were threatened at gunpoint Tuesday by hooligans who blame them for the club's poor results.

Santander, a forward with the Buenos Aires club, told a radio program that he and Moreno were accosted after practice by several hooligans who put a gun to Moreno's leg and said they would "blow it off" if he didn't leave the club.

The hooligan gangs, known in Argentina as "barrabravas," are a fixture in Argentine football matches where violence takes place at almost every match.

"They told us ... on Sunday we have to win. If not, things will get worse," Santander told the radio station La Red. "Never in my career has anything like this happened."

Santander said the incident happened shortly after they left practice in Moreno's vehicle. He said they were forced to pull over by another car and accosted at gunpoint.

Santander said he could not identify the assailants.

Moreno's agent Agustin Jimenez confirmed the incident and told Fox Radio del Plata that the player "is worried for his family."

Racing Club lost 2-0 on Sunday to Boca Juniors and is near the bottom of the Argentine first-division standings.

According to the Argentine nonprofit group "Let's Save Football," at least six people have died in Argentina in the last six months due to football-related violence. The group says the Argentine Football Association has done little to stem the violence.

Almost every major club in Argentina has a tacit connection to hooligan gangs, which are granted favors by the clubs in exchange for supporting club directors and often their political and labor connections. The gangs park cars, sell tickets and are widely reported to be involved in selling drugs.

They also have a history of intimidating players. Reports suggest this has often happened with the consent of club management.

NATO endorses strategy to end Afghan war but risks remain

CHICAGO (Reuters) - NATO set an "irreversible" course out of Afghanistan on Monday but President Barack Obama admitted the Western alliance's plan to end the deeply unpopular war in 2014 was fraught with peril.

A landmark NATO summit in Chicago endorsed an exit strategy that calls for handing control of Afghanistan to its own security forces by the middle of next year but left questions unanswered about how to prevent a slide into chaos and a Taliban resurgence after allied troops are gone.

The two-day meeting of the 28-nation military bloc marked a major milestone in a war sparked by the September 11 attacks that has spanned three U.S. presidential terms and even outlasted al Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden.

Obama and NATO partners sought to show their war-weary voters the end is in sight in Afghanistan - a conflict that has strained Western budgets as well as patience - while at the same time trying to reassure Afghans that they will not be abandoned.

"We are now unified behind a plan to responsibly wind down the war in Afghanistan," Obama told the summit's closing news conference.

"Are there risks involved? Absolutely," Obama conceded, saying the Taliban remained a "robust enemy" and NATO's gains on the ground were fragile. But he insisted the overall strategy, which offered few specifics on the pace of withdrawal, was sound.

Even in NATO's outward show of solidarity, it was clear that differences remained after nearly 11 years of military engagement that has failed to defeat Taliban Islamists.

Alliance leaders acquiesced to new French President Francois Hollande's insistence on sticking to his campaign pledge to withdraw France's 3,400 troops by December 31, two years ahead of NATO's timetable. While there was no sign this would send others rushing for the exits, leaders could face pressures at home.

But despite a face-to-face encounter with Pakistan's president, Obama failed to resolve a dispute overhanging the summit - Islamabad's refusal to reopen supply routes to NATO in Afghanistan seen as vital to an orderly withdrawal.

The summit's final communiqu? ratified plans for the NATO-led army to hand over command of all combat missions to Afghan forces by the middle of 2013 and for the withdrawal of most of the 130,000 foreign troops by the end of the following year.

The statement deemed it an "irreversible" transition to full security responsibility for fledgling Afghan troops, and said NATO's mission in 2014 would shift to a training and advisory role. "This will not be a combat mission," it said.

Doubts remain, however, whether Afghan forces can stand up against a still-potent Taliban insurgency and whether President Hamid Karzai's government, widely criticized for rampant corruption, will be up to the task.

Obama, who has narrowed his goals in Afghanistan since taking office, said: "We can achieve a stable Afghanistan that won't be perfect ... and we can begin rebuilding America."

With an eye to the November presidential election, Obama has made ending the Iraq war and winding down the Afghan war a campaign theme his aides hope will help ease voter anguish over a slow U.S. economic recovery and stubbornly high unemployment.

For NATO as a whole, the long, messy Afghan conflict seems to have created its own "Vietnam Syndrome," causing it to shy away from deep on-the-ground engagement in faraway places. NATO already limited itself to an air assault in Libya last year, and has shown no stomach for military intervention in Syria.

"GRAVEYARD OF EMPIRES"

The NATO plan offered no guarantees on the future of Afghanistan, known over the centuries as the "graveyard of empires" for its ill treatment of foreign armies.

While Obama insisted Afghanistan should never again be used to plot attacks on other nations, a senior British official said: "It is unrealistic to assume that Afghanistan is going to be completely secure and there is no possibility of a terrorist threat re-emerging."

Underscoring the prospects that other allies may be tempted to follow France's lead and depart early, New Zealand announced on Monday it would pull out its 140 troops in 2013, a year ahead of schedule, saying their work was done.

Amid a growing sense of finality surrounding the NATO mission, veteran diplomatic trouble-shooter Ryan Crocker will soon step down as Obama's envoy to Afghanistan. He could leave as early as this month, sources familiar with the matter said.

At the summit's end, Obama spoke of "diligent progress" but no breakthrough with Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari on the supply lines issue after they talked briefly on the sidelines.

Frustrated NATO officials have also been trying to persuade Pakistan to reopen its territory to NATO supplies, which Islamabad has blocked since NATO forces killed 24 Pakistani soldiers in a cross-border incident last year.

Sherry Rehman, Pakistan's ambassador to the United States, said that Zardari's presence at the summit was a positive sign. "What this conference does is acknowledge Pakistan's role," she told reporters. "Both countries I think are now seeking to bridge the differences."

With Europe's debt crisis hanging over the summit and many member-governments limited by austerity budgets, Obama also struggled to pin down final commitments from allies for the $4.1 billion a year needed to support Afghan security forces.

The funding - which will undergird Afghan's capacity to fight the Taliban and is considered vital to a smooth NATO departure - was not thought to have been fully realized at the summit. But alliance officials believe it will eventually be provided.

NATO diplomats said thinking had moved to the logistical challenge of getting a large multinational army out of the Afghan mountains and deserts and back home safely.

As Zardari, an uneasy U.S. partner, sat with other leaders around a circular table, Obama pointedly thanked Afghanistan's neighbors who have allowed expanded shipments of war supplies since Pakistan closed off ground routes to NATO truck convoys.

NATO is seeking to compensate in the meantime with a framework agreement with Afghanistan's northern neighbor, Uzbekistan, to allow "reverse transit" of NATO supplies from Afghanistan.

Friction remains between NATO and Pakistan over Taliban guerrillas who are still finding sanctuary in Pakistan, in spite of Islamabad's professed support for the alliance's mission.

Long-term funding for the Afghan police and army, which has steadily improved its performance but is still plagued by problems, was also a focus of the summit.

The United States is unwilling to foot the entire annual bill to maintain the forces after 2014 and has been seeking pledges from allies of $1.3 billion, despite austerity measures brought on by Europe's financial crisis.

Many of the leaders in Chicago came directly from a Camp David summit of the Group of Eight wealthy nations that vowed to take all necessary measures to contain the euro-zone contagion.

Afghan funding commitments so far include $100 million annually from Britain, $120 million from Italy, $110 million from Canada, $100 million from Australia and $20 million from Turkey. Zardari told a NATO partners meeting Pakistan would also contribute $20 million.

Obama has sought to dispel Americans' concerns that shaky allies will leave U.S. troops to finish the fight alone.

Despite pressure from some NATO members to reconsider, Hollande vowed to hold to his election pledge withdraw French troops by the year's end but said France would keep some trainers in the country for Afghan soldiers and police.

A French defense official said the United States appeared to be asking France for more financing to offset Paris' decision to exit early. "The Americans are asking for between $200-$250 million," the official said. "It's a way of compensating."

Meet the man who coined the term 'pink slime'

"Pink slime" was almost "pink paste" or "pink goo."

The microbiologist who coined the term for lean finely textured beef ran through a few iterations in his head before he decided to send an email about the filler to a co-worker at the U.S. Department of Agriculture a decade ago. Then, the name hit him like heartburn after a juicy burger.

"It's pink. It's pasty. And it's slimy looking. So I called it 'pink slime,'" said Gerald Zirnstein, the former meat inspector at the USDA. "It resonates, doesn't it?"

The pithy description fueled an uproar that resulted in the main company behind the filler, Beef Products Inc., deciding to close three meat plants this month. The controversy over the filler, which is made of fatty bits of beef that are heated and treated with ammonium to kill bacteria, shows how a simple nickname can forever change an entire industry.

In fact, the beef filler had been used for decades before the nickname came about. But most Americans didn't know ? or care ? about it before Zirnstein's vivid moniker was quoted in a 2009 article by The New York Times on the safety of meat processing methods.

Soon afterward, celebrity chef Jamie Oliver began railing against it. McDonald's and other fast food companies later discontinued their use of it. And major supermarket chains including Kroger and Stop & Shop vowed to stop selling beef with the low-cost filler.

Bettina Siegel, a food blogger who posted an online petition asking the USDA to stop using the filler in school lunches, said the controversy isn't based on the term alone. She said consumers are just upset that the filler is not what they think they're getting when they buy "100 percent ground beef."

But Siegel acknowledges that the name doesn't hurt her cause, either. She said the term "filled a vacuum" in the public arena about the filler; her petition, "Tell the USDA to STOP Using Pink Slime in School Food" had more than 200,000 signatures within a week.

Beef Products, which makes the filler, blames its plant closings on what it calls unfounded attacks. About 650 jobs will be lost when plants in Amarillo, Texas, Garden City, Kansas, and Waterloo, Iowa close on Friday. Another plant in South Sioux City, Neb., will remain open but run at reduced capacity.

Still, the company, based in South Dakota, said it's not considering changing the filler's name. Instead, Beef Products set up a website, beefisbeef.com, to combat what it calls "media-perpetuated myths" about the filler.

Meanwhile, the author of the term "pink slime" makes no apologies about his creation. Zirnstein, who has since left the USDA, said he thinks "pink slime" is a better descriptor than "lean finely textured beef."

"It says it's lean. Great. But it doesn't describe what kind of lean it is," said Zirnstein, who doesn't think the product should be mixed into beef. "Textured. What does that mean?"

The Basics of A Strong Email Signature - Internet Business ...

Learning how to work with your email signature in your daily affairs is something worth learning about. You can do more than you think with this small piece of marketing, and that is the beauty of it. The key here is to focus on quality more than quantity when it comes traffic, but unless and until your email signature is perfectly aligned, it won?t get the expected response. The article below talks about three effective tips that you can use to infuse more life into your email signature.

You may have a lot of different ways to contact you, but you never want to include all of them. Besides, do you really want people to have every single method you have to contact you? There is nothing wrong with inserting a call to action that tells people it is fine to give you a shout. You need to give people a compelling reason to communicate with your in the first place.

What some people mistakenly try to do is cram some marketing into it, and that is not really what is supposed to happen. Another important point is to be cautious about how you want to be thought about because in time what you have will stick. It is showing people something over and over that serves to have the marketing influence. After you write your email signature, step back and take a good long look at it and see what you feel. It is important to get criticism from people, and another way of viewing this is marketing feedback.

One thing is that sometimes signatures can have a problem, and that is what the signature delimiter is all about. Now, this is such a small thing but ignoring it can defeat the whole purpose of including your signature in the first place. Just enable this feature, and you will not have to be worried about it in the future. If you are not sure about the signature delimiter, then you can look in the help files for your email client.

As we see from the above article, it doesn?t take a lot to create an effective email signature. Do continue researching on this topic because you have to know how to write an effective signature. One thing you need to avoid with your signature is to not do heavy marketing. Be sure you do what you can and take all this to heart, and you may discover good things.

If you desire to see expansion through established methods with a solid history, then mobile marketing is well worth your interest and exploration.

Syrian opposition head offers to resign

BEIRUT (AP) ? Syria's main opposition council is crumbling under the weight of infighting and divisions over issues that cut to the heart of the revolution, including accusations that the movement is becoming as autocratic as the regime it wants to drive out.

The slow disintegration of the Syrian National Council, which has become the international face of the uprising, could complicate Western efforts to bolster the opposition, just as President Bashar Assad's regime gathers momentum in its crackdown on dissent.

On Thursday, SNC leader Burhan Ghalioun said he was ready to step down once a replacement is found, amid mounting criticism of his leadership.

The decision came just days after he was re-elected for a third, three month term during a council vote held in Rome. The council has said it would rotate the presidency every three months, so Ghalioun's repeated appointments rankled some who wanted a new face.

"I will not accept under any circumstances to be a divisive candidate, and I am not after any post," said Ghalioun, an exiled Syrian and professor at the Sorbonne in Paris. "I will resign as soon as a new candidate is picked, either by consensus or new elections."

Ghalioun, a secular Sunni Muslim academic who has led the council since its formation in September, has been criticized by some opposition figures of being too close to the Muslim Brotherhood and of trying to monopolize power.

Fifteen months into the uprising, Syria's opposition is still struggling to overcome internal rivalries and power struggles that prevent the movement from gaining the traction it needs to present a credible alternative to Assad. Its international backers have repeatedly appealed for the movement to pull together and work as one unit.

But as the conflict becomes more violent, with rebel fighters and others taking up arms, attempts to operate under a single umbrella have become increasingly difficult.

"Although it (the SNC) was conceptualized as a formation designed to represent society as a whole, it has played a very polarizing role. By mishandling personality issues, it has alienated more prominent opposition figures than necessary," said Peter Harling of the International Crisis Group think tank.

The U.N. estimated in March that the violence in Syria has killed more than 9,000 people. Hundreds more have been killed since then as a revolt that began with mostly peaceful calls for reform has transformed into an armed insurgency.

Since its inception last September, the Syrian National Council has served as a reference point for Western leaders when it comes to the Syrian opposition.

But the SNC, whose leaders are largely Syrian exiles, has tried with little success to unify the opposition and has alienated minorities inside Syria, including the Kurds and the Alawites, the tiny sect to which Assad belongs. The Alawite community has largely stuck by Assad.

Some opposition figures accuse the SNC leadership of being out of touch with reality on the ground. Several prominent dissidents have already quit the organization, calling it "autocratic."

In response to the discord and perceived ineffectiveness of the group, some Syrian protesters have recently taken to carrying banners written on them: "The SNC does not represent me."

In the northern town of Binnish, protesters this week held a poster mocking Ghalioun, saying preparations were under way to "crown him as emperor because no alternative among Syria's 23 million population could be found."

Unlike Libya's National Transitional Council, which brought together most factions against Moammar Gadhafi's regime and was quickly recognized internationally, the SNC has no real leadership on the ground and has not been officially recognized by the major powers.

The opposition is already reeling from significant losses over the past few months when rebel fighters were largely driven out of key strongholds ? the city of Idlib near the northern border with Turkey and the Baba Amr district in the central city of Homs.

Despite his pariah status among much of the international community, Assad is still firmly in power and the U.N. has ruled out any military intervention of the type that helped bring down Gadhafi. Several rounds of sanctions and other attempts to isolate Assad have done little to stop the bloodshed.

The international community has now pinned its hopes on a peace plan brokered by international envoy Kofi Annan. More than 200 observers are on the ground in Syria to monitor a cease-fire, but violations are reported by both sides every day.

A key activist group called the Local Coordination Committees threatened to withdraw from the SNC on Thursday, saying the council had "drifted away from the spirit of the revolution."

Several members of the group had been preparing to withdraw before Ghalioun announced his pending resignation.

"We have seen nothing in the past months except political incompetence in the SNC and a total lack of consensus between its vision and that of the revolutionaries," the LCC said.

The LCC ? a network of activists based both inside and outside of Syria ? accused the SNC leadership of marginalizing council members and acting alone on major decisions.

Ghalioun ran against George Sabra, a Christian council member seen by many as a better choice to soothe concerns by Syria's religious minorities, some of whom have remained loyal to Assad out of fear for their future in case his regime collapses.

A conference sponsored by the Arab League in Cairo to help unite the disparate opposition was canceled this week, largely because of infighting between various groups.

In a rare acknowledgment of shortcomings, a leading council figure said the group needed an overhaul and should become more inclusive.

Bassma Kodmani, a Paris-based senior figure in the council, said by telephone Thursday that the LCC concerns were "justified and legitimate." But she also said differences within the Syrian opposition were a sign of democracy. "Otherwise we would be just like the Baath Party and the Assad regime."

Proper Personal Finance Management ? Savings Habit | Savings ...

Proper Personal Finance Management??

Article by A Bohart

Rising consumerism and easy access to credit has given rise to overspending, even by an average income earner. The result has been an increasing number of people caught in a growing debt burden. The problem is worsened simply because most people care very little about managing their finances, or about proper personal finance management. The fact is, you?d get more benefits if you take your personal financial management seriously. Here are some ideas which could help you

Wisely Use Credit Cards

Credit cards are the most popular method of getting credit. They are easier to secure, and easier to make use of ? just select an item, carry it to the cashier and swipe your card. Not needing to carry cash around encourages many people to simply swipe their cards on the ever-present credit card terminals, not realizing or not caring that everything ultimately goes on their tab. Please remember that the more you swipe your card, the more debt you are building up.

Proper financial management means taking precautions so one can minimize credit card debts. For one, use your credit card only when there is no other alternative. Two, spend on your credit card only the amount of money you have to spend. Bear in mind, the credit card company will start charging penalties if you are not able to settle your dues on time ? which will only add to your debts and will worsen your problem.

When applying for a credit card, shop around first. Look for the company that charges the most favorable interest rate. Keep in mind that paying a low interest rate means saving some money for other expenses.

Consider Debit Cards

Another approach is to avail of debit ? not credit ? cards. The advantage here is that your spending is limited by the amount you have in your account. As such, debit cards have inbuilt protection against overspending and the ensuing loss of financial control.

Go with Secured Personal Loans

Personal loans are another source of finance. Personal loans will make you financially stronger and more secure ? if you use the loan constructively, that is. If you are taking out a personal loan just so you can spend some more money you don?t have, taking out a personal loan is just going to speed up your financial decline.

If you decide on this approach, your priority should be minimizing loan costs as much as possible. As such, you should avail of personal loans that charge the most favorable rates of interest so you can save up on interest charges that will only add to your indebtedness.

When taking out a personal loan, opt for the secured personal loan ? that which puts up any of your properties as collateral. With a secured or collateralized loan, lenders will be more willing to lower their interest rates and offer you a more favorable payment schedule.

Save First

To have more financial control, you need to exchange your habit of expenditure for a habit of saving. If you save enough money, you won?t need to take out a loan or a credit card for sudden and unexpected expenses. You can just use your own savings and as such, you?re not going to have to pay interest.

Wise financial management encompasses spending only on what?s necessary and what?s within budget. Never borrow money so you can spend more. This will never work and you will be just digging your financial grave when you do this.
